The Awakening Chapter One

Amaris the bounty hunter awakens in the arms of her next meal. Distraught at having both slipped with her mission, and slept with him, she finds herself going to his kitchen for a drink. He had known whom she was working for and when he tried to kill her she turned the tables and unleashed a power within her that she still does not yet know how to handle and ends up both killing her hit and the police who later come in and overhear what was happening.
She then meets with her partner Rhyazahn, and after a short exchange of playful banter (which mostly involves Rhyazahn trying to figure out what had happened in Blades’s apartment) they fly to find Katie

Katie is currently located at an orphanage on Chyron 4 where she is currently trying to sleep when several MSP agents come for her. Panicked, she tried to run and collided head forth into Rhyazahn. Heightened with the surrounding mayhem, the young teen faints and the partners narrowly escape onto the Veritas.

Saffron Skies Chapter One

Aurelius is the new captain for the Venelian army and is quite nervous about the coming dawn. Master Isaka gives him several words of wisdom as well as an invitation to escort his daughter, Kyra (whom Aurelius as had a keen eye on for quite some time) to a gathering he’d have later on.

Meanwhile on the other side of camp, co-Captain Raenus had just received a new gift from the Kersians: an As’kien queen. THE As’kien queen. Not knowing how truly valuable her magic was, he was to have his way with her when Aurelius and later Isaka interrupt and try to dissuade the captain from his actions. He coldly and respectfully declines only to turn and find the queen attacking him and wrestling him to the ground.

We get a flavor for the Kersian captain on the other side of the battlefield and how he’s faring this evening before returning to the Venelian camp to the Storm demon, Skava going to report to Raenus. She finds Cyraelis hacking away at the rope at her wrists and draws her weapon upon her. When the queen turns, Skava recognizes her for what she is.
Several words are exchange upon which conclusion is reached to storm the Kersian camp and reclaim Cyraelis’s As’kien magic that had been stripped away from her by Cian. The two new companions gag and bound Raenus then make their way to the other side of the battlefield under the cover of a storm.

Saffron Skies Chapter Two (So far...)
Master Isaka is regarding the dawn and hoping for a bright outcome to the battle at dawn, even though the men were in disarray after the disappearance of the As’kien, Skava, and Raenus being found in such a state. Captain Aurelius gives Isaka a status report and confides how nervous he truly feels about the battle. He doesn’t feel worthy for the title as captain but Isaka feels differently.

On the other side of camp, Cyraelis and Skava have reached Cian’s tent and demanded the right for her magic back.

Juno, who had been battling a storm and failed, woke up in the bed of Oan’s young child. The large tribesman had apparently taken care of most of her wounds and insisted that her ship would be ready in a night’s time. She then was then introduced to the village. The sea captain became alarmed when Oan’s daughter asked whether or not Juno was her mother and Oan said that she wasn’t yet. With that, still injured and dazed, she wandered off alone into the outskirts of the tribal village. There she ran into the chimerian wolf, Loki. He was first hostile to her but later realizing that she had reopened her wounds, he healed them with his magical abilities. After some conversation which also involved going to the shoreline so that Juno could properly find her ship, they were attacked by a gang of hunters which also was comprised of the man who killed Loki’s family.

After a gruesome scene of battles, hostages, blood, arrows, and crossbows (it’s really a great scene. You guys should read it.) Juno is bleeding profusely from a gash at her neck an attacked had given her and Loki was hurt in several places. She, being upset that he could actually barter with her life, attempted to leave him and find her way back to Oan’s village. Loki catches up with her and heals her anyway insisting that he could not have her hate him. He then collapses from his wounds and exhaustion, leaving Juno to tend to him medically. When she does so and makes camp near a stream, she falls asleep by the fire only to have him wake up and sleep on her as well to keep her warm.
